Stitches in the shoulder
“Bloody hell doc, easy with it.”
“I’ve seen four-year-olds whine less than you.”
“They get a lollipop at the end. All I get is a bill.”
The doctor purses his lips and focuses on the next stitch.
“What did you do to get this?”
“Save an orphan from a burning fire.”
“You know I have access to your chart, right?”
“Fine, I slipped eating an ice cream cone and impaled myself on a dog collar.”
“Was the dog wearing it?”
“No.”
“So it was on the floor then?”
“Not exactly.”
“Then who had it on?”
The doctor’s daughter walks in the room and turns as pale as the bed sheet.
